P Dude :)

My little man has SUCH a personality...

He has a new favorite saying that he has become a fan of.

"Hello, McFly"

Quite funny! Bonus, when Ryan asks him a question he says "No Dad".
Hehehe, its pretty fantastic.

Oh boy, boy o boy

Oh wise mothers in the world: my night with the Pdude.

So, I was working on making dinner for my lovely family when all heck broke loose. I was alone in the kitchen (Ryan was working out)as Pdude was behind me, coloring at the kitchen table (rookie mistake). I turned to the stove and dumped the chicken bits into the casserole dish. I turned back and Pman wasn't at the table. I had a second or so of panic as I stepped around the kitchen island... and found this.

Naturally, I snapped a quick photo of P - then prepared to give the traditional "we only color on the pages" lecture that all parents give. However, P was one step ahead of me. He suddenly yelled "Mommy, gotta poopy" and ran to the bathroom. Well, I hopped up and followed him (leaving crayon AND dinner behind) where he was crying and standing next to Elmo Potty. I quickly stripped off his diaper and pants and sat him down. Well, P then went poop in the potty. This being the first time he has done anything but sit idly on this little contraption, I celebrated this moment! (Mildly, thanks to advice from Regina Palmer). I then redressed Pman and headed back to the kitchen and cleaned up the crayon.

So, he thwarted punishment tonight by deciding to outdo himself - and go poopy on potty. Though we did discuss not coloring on the wall while mommy scrubbed off the wall. Then returned to finish said casserole for dinner.

Ahh, P. :)

Pman "Genius Child" Aerni

Oh my little P dude. So the newest update for Parker is that Ryan is SO proud of him – he has taken to telling anyone who will listen that he is a genius.
Now, don’t get me wrong I think Parker is a smart cookie, but don’t “toot his horn” quite so often as daddy does. (Yes, dear, its true that the Speech Therapist at daycare said he is extremely articulate for his age)

Anywho - for Halloween, Parker dressed up as Elroy Jetson as a bit of a joke. If you aren’t aware, Mr. Elroy is a highly intelligent little one who is an expert in space science. He studies astrophysics at school at age seven. So, I made him an Elroy costume!

Now to share what our own genius child is up to:
He can tell you what these animals say – Cow, Chicken, Duck, Pig, Dog, Cat, Sheep, Horse, Dinosaur, Lion and Monkey.
He does have quite the vocabulary and is a little parrot, repeating just about everything possible he can.
He knows to say please, thank you and you are welcome.
He knows to ask for kisses and hugs.

Pman, my smartie pants, I hope you stay on track and become a Rocket Scientist and make lots of monies!

His newest “tasks” we are working on is the teeth brushing. We are allowing him to do his own teeth, but we are trying to teach him the difference between brushing teeth and eating toothpaste.
We are also working on the potty training. He talks about Elmo Potty all the time and sits on it saying “I have to poop”… but nothing has actually occurred yet. Maybe soon…

I am back!

I was just realizing how much my life has changed when I looked at this old blog page… how life goes by so quickly, I will never know. I blinked and am now proudly raising a 15 month old walking, talking, teething, sassing toddler. What? How did this occur?

So, I decided to try this blogging business one more time. I didn’t do so well the first year of my little p-man’s life, but I figure we all deserve second chances, yes?

Rather than go over old news (like the teething, walking, talking) lets skip right to the good stuff.

P-Man now roars like a lion. It’s quite amusing. If you ask him what sound a lion makes he says “roar”. I find this funny no matter how many times per day I ask him to do it.

He also discovered the sheer joy involved when you take out all of something and make mommy or daddy put it away. Like removing all the books from the bookshelf, or all the dvd’s from the shelf, or all the blankets from his dresser… yea, you get the picture. Totally drives Ryan batty – I find this behavior also, amusing. Though I do know I will have to eventually discourage this mess making tendency. Or I shall be the maker of my own evil little monster.

I think we have all seen that Ryan is already turning him into a lawn obsessive weirdo… check facebook to see Ryan directing Parker with a little man sized lawnmower, ensuring he drives in straight lines.

And finally! I have started doing things that will embarrass him when he is a teenager. For example: I put him in pajamas that make him look just like Woody from Toy Story. See reference.

I then share these photos with people… sort of like I just did on this blog.

Oh, Parker how you will roll your eyes at me one day. Love Mom!
